Beginning My Career in 2024

Happy New Year!

I had The Hanaak Directory on the backburner since 2023, and I was never sure if I was ready to post Starlight Radio out into the public eye. On New Year’s Day, I mustered up the courage to launch The Hanaak Directory.

Right now, my focus is on publishing free issues of Starlight Radio. To know Starlight Radio, one must know the characters, and so we only see Karu and Jo this week. I completed issue #1 in one night, and that includes a quick developmental and hanaak edit so it’s more legible.

You don’t read much of the temple they visit, as Jo doesn’t want to know the temple, and so she has her eyes forward, and she’s shutting everything else out. We probably won’t see much of that temple anyway. I would rather give the reader a look into their real world when Karu and Jo get home from Kerangi.

And ahead of issue #1, I have a lot to introduce: the other main characters, who they are connected to, what they do, and where they go. When it comes to Karu and Jo alone, you’ve only seen a snippet of their life - their royal status isn’t everything.

When I get to work, I put on music of various artists, but the musicians I most commonly listen to are Nik Kershaw, Oingo Boingo, and Split Enz. My tastes may change for different songs; it happens every year. But these are my favourites.

Something new I’ve added to my music rotation, though, is a man named Gene Pitney. He’s a singer from the 60s, and he’s known for his version of Something’s Gotten Hold of My Heart. You might not like him at first listen, but I think he sounds like an angel.

I’ll be back next week for another insight. Happy reading!
